Fireworks for ThyssenKrupp
SanderWerbung organises inauguration event for the new blast furnace 8 of ThyssenKrupp Steel AG
On 28 January 2008, for the first time in 15 years in Germany ThyssenKrupp inaugurated a new blast furnace. On the site of the steel works in Duisburg, the most modern blast furnace in the world produces 5,600 t of steel every day. The € 250 million investment safeguards thousands of jobs.
SanderWerbung conceived and organised the opening event as well as the social program for 400 invited guests from politics and industry. For this, a 1,600 qm warehouse was completely re-fashioned to provide a festive atmosphere. This is where both the “official” part with different speakers in front of a large audience and the subsequent „“jovial“ part with the corresponding catering took place.

Following miscellaneous factory tours, the highlight of the inauguration was a brilliant firework. This was a precarious affair in this hazard zone during ongoing operations. In the run-up to the event it required marathon to obtain permits at the district government and the Aviation Agency, among others.

The prominent guests that included the Minister for Economic Affairs Christa Thoben, ThyssenKrupp Chief Executive Dr. Ekkehard Schulz, Supervisory Board Chairman Dr. Gerhard Cromme and Chairman of the Board of the ThyssenKrupp Steel AG Dr. Karl-Ulrich Köhler were very impressed by the inauguration ceremony and staging of the 90 meter high, new blast furnace.
